Goal
Import existing transactions from a CSV file into SUMA.
Before you start
Make sure your CSV file has a header row and at least an amount column. Supported columns: amount, date, category, description, account, type (income/expense). Maximum file size is 10 MB.
Steps
1. Go to Import in the sidebar.
2. Click "Choose file" and select your CSV.
3. Map each CSV column to a SUMA field (amount, date, category, etc.).
4. Review the preview — SUMA shows how each row will be imported.
5. Check the duplicate detection results and uncheck any rows you want to skip.
6. Optionally enable "Auto-create categories" to create missing categories.
7. Click "Import" to execute.
Expected result
Your transactions are imported and visible in the transaction list. Any new categories or accounts are created automatically if enabled.
Tips
Export from your bank or other app first, then clean up the CSV headers if needed. SUMA tries to auto-detect column types.
