Rules and conditions for using Suma
By creating an account or using Suma — whether through the web dashboard, Telegram bot, or any other interface — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Suma is a personal and group budget tracking tool. It lets you record income and expenses via text, voice, or receipt photos, and provides dashboards and exports to help you understand your spending. Suma is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
You can create an account using Google, GitHub, or the Telegram bot. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms or remain inactive for an extended period.
You agree not to:
Use Suma for any illegal purpose.
Attempt to access other users' data or disrupt the service.
Send automated or bulk requests to the service.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code.
You own the data you enter into Suma (transactions, categories, descriptions). We process it solely to provide the service. You can export or delete your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for details on how data is stored and handled.
The Telegram bot is one of several ways to interact with Suma. Telegram does not provide end-to-end encryption for bot conversations. By using the Telegram bot, you acknowledge that your messages — including financial data — may be accessible to Telegram as a third party. For maximum privacy, use the web dashboard (HTTPS end-to-end). We are not responsible for Telegram's data handling practices. See Telegram's privacy policy for details.
When using Zero-Knowledge Mode, you are responsible for maintaining access to your encryption passphrase and recovery key.
You are solely responsible for your encryption passphrase and recovery key. Store them securely.
If you lose both your passphrase and recovery key, your encrypted data cannot be recovered. SUMA cannot access, decrypt, or reset your encryption keys.
Zero-Knowledge Mode disables certain features that require server-side access to your data, including AI chat analysis, server-side search, and automated categorization.
Suma is a tracking tool, not financial advice. We are not liable for decisions made based on data shown in the app. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Suma is provided without warranties of any kind, and our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service (currently $0).
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
